‘Mama June’ preview: Mama June denied bariatric revision surgery

“I have seen the pathology results. There is no easy way to say it. I have some bad news for you. “That’s not what I wanted to hear,” replied Mama June. He hoped he would be able to undergo bariatric revision surgery. She had gastric sleeve surgery in 2016 and went on to lose 300 pounds.

“It won’t be that easy. Revision is much more dangerous,” says Dr. Fitz. “Bleeding is more likely in revision. So if anything, I’m trying to make 100 percent sure that we don’t put your life in danger. I don’t want to start this journey until you’ve really spent some time thinking about how you deal with food.”

Mama June wants him to have a revision surgery so he can “stop eating”. Instead of surgery, Dr. Fitz recommends that June eat smaller portions, eat sensibly and work with a therapist to “separate food from any other emotions.” for June. It’s easier said than done.

“You just can’t kick a food addiction when you have to eat every day. At least I went Rehab for my drug addiction. I know there is no rehab or food addiction,” Mama June said. Dr. Feige tells Zwain that “this is our last chance” when it comes to making one Major lifestyle changes.
