Thank you so much for joining Cliché today! Tell us, did you always know you wanted to be in the beauty industry?

When I was eight years old, I always knew the makeup I wanted to follow. I would rummage through my aunt’s wallet and play with all her makeup. A few years later, I started making my own YouTube videos about hair, DIY and makeup tutorials. I fell in love with creating content and sharing my emotions with my audience.

You also started acting as a child, did you enjoy that?

I see that the basis of the industry is the people they employ strictly on appearance. I love acting, but the art can be quite harsh. So, why I love YouTube. I love creating honest and fun channels with my viewers.

At what age did you start pursuing makeup?

I created my makeup brand Freelance at the age of 12. At that age, I started getting acne and scars. I had no idea what to do, so I started buying acne products and what any other teenager would do. Soon, I’m starting to notice that the ingredients in these products are words that I can’t even pronounce. I was shocked that I was mixing such harsh chemicals in my mouth. So, that’s when I went to my mom and told her that I wanted to start a makeup line that could help teenagers feel confident in their skin.

Tell us about your makeup brand Freelance?

I wanted to start an affordable, easy and enjoyable brand for teens! I like the makeup thing, and I wanted to show that. Freelance is a skincare cosmetic made for teens. When launching the brand, I wanted the ingredients to focus on all-natural, teen skin. By doing this, I can find a lab near the house to get very hands-on with the products. I believe that no one understands teenagers better than teenagers! This is why I want to help and create the most authentic product!

What is your favorite product from freelancers and why?

Definitely Perfect primer + serum. I feel that the primer is great for your daily skin care routine and really helps stop breakouts and gives you radiant skin.

Being a lawyer for teens, how do you spread positivity?

I feel that most teenagers do not understand. The years of your adolescence can be the most confusing and problematic times. I want teens to know that it’s okay not to do it all. As a child, I had a hard time at school and had difficulty learning, but surrounded myself with positivity and self-confidence could go a long way.

What are you excited about in the future?

A lot! I would like to start conducting seminars across the country to talk about wellness, skin care and overall counseling for adolescents. Now, I’m excited to see where Freelance goes and how I can help more teenagers feel empowered and confident. I really want to start traveling around the world and learn about other cultures and people.

What is something that you are proud of?

Recently, Freelance is being sold in over 500 Walmart stores worldwide! Knowing that my product is in store for teenagers, it seems very unrealistic. I can’t believe that freelance started out as just an idea and now it’s a part of my and others ’daily lives.
