Angelina Jolie, 47, is enjoying her older daughter Zahara’s new college journey. The 17-year-old actress dropped out at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA on August 10 and is feeling “bittersweet” emotions about the change “Angelina has always had an incredibly close bond with Zahara so it’s bittersweet to see her go to college,” a source told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY. “They are having some extra alone time together because Angie knows how much she will miss her little girl.”
“They’re doing all the usual things to get mother-daughter ready for school,” the source continued. “Shopping for books, school supplies, and everything else she needs while on campus to make sure she’s comfortable in her dorm. They got an extensive tour before going to school and Angie is so excited to see her daughter growing up in such a beautiful environment. She thinks it’s a wonderful school and is excited to see her child grow up.”

Daryl Holloman, Spelman’s vice-president of student affairs, said in a video he shared on Instagram that Angelina was almost in tears and excited at the same time. The friendly mother and her daughter also met the school president, Dr. Helen Gale, during the official campus drop-off. Zahara’s first official day of class will be Aug. 17 after school orientation that began Aug. 10.
“Angelina was in Atlanta for a few days with Zahara and she’ll be staying a little longer to get her settled,” a second source shared exclusively.
